Some photos and geekings from a scientist and all-round nerd.
Hardware system design
I've built iterations of prototypes for industrial environments (early version power meter shown here).
Circuit design and analysis
My team and I have built circuits that push the possibilities of commodity components. My responsibility has been to use data analysis to extract the most information from our sensor elements.
User-friendly, compact sensors
My sensors have been installed on real-world assets by third party technicians without any involvement from my team.
Some problems require creative solutions. This was an early prototype mechanism that could open and close itself without a motor while suspended 10m away from the user.
Sensing the world
Not all prototypes are pretty. This is a novel sensor arrangement capable of detecting changes in the running of the drill's motor, which can signal imminent failure.
